5:30 – 8:30: Ahlfabet Swing Band – This Nyack based band specializes in 30s and 40s style jazz, with a focus on the swing music of Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Sidney Bechet, Jimmie Lunceford, Coleman Hawkins, and Count Basie. The band also plays songs from the Great American Songbook that have been covered by crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. In addition to their classic repertoire, the Ahlfabet Swing Band has recently started creating fun swing arrangements of classic rock and pop tunes. The band’s music is always fun and upbeat, and they really emphasize the danceable jazz that was once pop music.
