DESCRIPTION:We regret to inform that we will be closed SUNDAY JAN 19th due to impending snowstorm and additional complications at our restaurant. \n5:30 – 8:30: The Ahlfabet Swing Band\, a popular swing jazz group in the New York metropolitan area\, is pleased to announce their new season of live shows. The band will be performing at a variety of venues throughout Rockland County\, Westchester County\, and New York City. The Nyack based band specializes in 30s and 40s style jazz\, with a focus on the swing music of Louis Armstrong\, Benny Goodman\, Sidney Bechet\, Jimmie Lunceford\, Coleman Hawkins\, and Count Basie. The band also plays songs from the Great American Songbook that have been covered by crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. \nIn addition to their classic repertoire\, the Ahlfabet Swing Band has recently started creating fun swing arrangements of classic rock and pop tunes. The band’s music is always fun and upbeat\, and they really emphasize the danceable jazz that was once pop music. Jazz started as dance music\, and the Nyack Swing Band tries their best to keep it that way. The band is led by Albert Ahlf\, who writes most of the arrangements. Ahlf is known for his “condensed big band sound\,” which utilizes two to three horns with a rhythm section. The band also features talented musicians such as [list of band members]. \nThe Ahlfabet Swing Band has played at numerous venues throughout the region\, including Maureen’s Jazz Cellar\, Casa del Sole in Nyack\, Bean Runner Cafe in Peekskill\, The View in Piermont\, the Rockland Conservatory of Music in Pearl River\, and the Edward Hopper House for their annual fundraiser and summer jazz series. The band was also featured in Hot House Magazine in 2022

DESCRIPTION:Early Set | Jazz Quartet\n5:30 – 8:30: Kimberly Woods\, also known as KAZ\, is a singer and actress currently residing in New York City.  Growing up in Salt Lake City\, Utah\, she was first introduced to Jazz and the Great American Songbook through the music of her grandfather\, Bill Woods\, playing saxophone and clarinet around the valley\, and her mother\, Brenda Woods who is also a singer. She quickly fell in love with the sounds of Nat King Cole\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Frank Sinatra\, Sarah Vaughn\, Peggy Lee\, and other artists of that era. Some of her favorite artists include Natalie Cole\, Diana Krall\, Ann Hampton Calloway\, Michael Bublé\, Harry Connick Jr. and others. Performing in Chicago\, San Francisco\, Salt Lake City and most recently Phoenix\, she is thrilled to be in the Big Apple. KAZ works in duo with guitar or piano\, with a trio\, or full band.
