Johnson\, Shirley Scott\, and Houston Person. John’s big band credits include Lionel Hampton\, Illinois Jacquet\, Artie Shaw\, Jimmy Dorsey\, Harlem Renaissance and Cotton Club orchestras. He has toured Japan\, Europe\, Scandinavia\, Canada and the United States performing at major festivals including Monterey\, Montreal\, Playboy\, North Sea\, JVC\, Pori\, Grande Parade du Jazz (Nice\, France)\, and Newport Jazz Festival. Some of the venues John has played include Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center\, Radio City Music Hall\, The Kennedy Center\, The Hollywood Bowl\, Brooklyn Academy of Music\, Ravinia\, The Village Vanguard\, The Blue Note\, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola\, and Jazz Standard. Currently Simon appears on over ten CD albums\, including three critically acclaimed as a leader\, his debut on Muse Records\, Legacy: The John Simon Trio Featuring Don Patterson\, his second\, John David Simon and Friends with Clark Terry & Etta Jones\, and latest CD album\, Phantasm\, both on WarmGroove Records. Joe Politi “Swing is a form of music that grew out of jazz\,” explained Stan Rubin. “The beauty of big-band swing is that it combines musical structure with improvisation\, the hallmark of jazz\, but swing doesn’t abandon the melody like some modern jazz.” As ruler of his particular kingdom\, Stan built over many decades in a library of swing\, a collection of the arrangements played by the likes of Goodman\, the Dorsey Brothers\, Artie Shaw\, Duke Ellington\, Count Basie\, Harry James and a half-dozen others who swung America from the 1930s into the early 50s. And he continues to keep this brand of music on the menu\, through live appearances by the Stan Rubin Orchestra.

ONE NIGHT ONLY! \nThe Flying Neutrinos rose to prominence alongside the wave of retro-swing bands in the 1990s. Their punchy rhythmic drive gave rebirth to the jump blues bands of that bygone era. Sparkling vocals from Lucia adds immeasurably to the quintet’s appeal. \n\n\n\nRaised in New Orleans\, Louisiana\, and Austin\, Texas\, and various places where her itinerant parents paused in their wanderings\, Ingrid Lucia was filled from childhood with an interest in music and the arts. Her parents\, musician David Pearlman and artist Betsy Terrell\, formed a family band in the 80s\, and Lucia joined them at the age of 11 as drummer\, dancer and singer. The band was named the Flying Neutrinos and they played on the streets surviving hardships and setbacks but forming a self-contained\, mutually supportive and warm environment. \nWhen her parents decided to leave the band in the early 90s\, Lucia took over as leader. Alongside her from childhood and a long-standing member of the band is her cousin Todd Londagin. A striking vocal sound brought this fine young singer much approval when the Flying Neutrinos rose to prominence alongside the wave of retro-swing although in their case\, their punchy rhythmic drive had a lot more to do with the jump blues bands of that bygone era and they are much less noticeably post-rock.
