DESCRIPTION:Early Set | Jazz Quartet\n5:30 – 8:30: Marty Elkins \nMarty Elkins hails from Jersey City\, New Jersey. Marty moved to New York in the early eighties and began playing clubs like Jimmy Ryan’s and Eddie Condon’s\, singing with Max Kaminsky’s band\, Spanky Davis’ “Jimmy Ryan All Stars” at the Cat Club\, Cousin’s in Brooklyn with Tardo Hammer & Lee Hudson\, and even the Savoy Lounge in midtown Manhattan (with a young organ trio – Adam Scone\, Coleman Mellett and Craig Wuepper). Swingadelic is Hoboken’s Little Big Band and has performed all over the Tri-State and beyond from Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing\, to  NJPAC\, to endless festivals\, including Bele Chere (Ashville NC)\, MusikFest (Allentown PA)\, the CD 109 Jazz & Blues Festival (Red Bank\, NJ)\, and the sanofi-aventis JazzFest (Madison NJ)…The band plays about 100 dates per year and has traveled from Maine to Atlanta. Swingadelic has maintained a residency for eight years at Swing 46 in NYC where they perform weekly.
